Setting Up Your POP Email Address in Thunderbird Email Client

  1. Open Thunderbird, and select 'Account Settings...' from the 'Tools' menu.


  2. Select 'Email account,' and click 'Next.'


  3. Enter your full name in the 'Your Name:' field. Enter your full email address (username@yourdomain.com) in the 'Email Address:' field, and click 'Next.'


  4. Select 'POP' as the type of incoming server you are using. Enter 'pop3.yourdomain.com' in the 'Incoming Server:' field, and click 'Next.'

    NOTE: "pop3.yourdomain.com" is an example of the incoming pop3 server address. The setting for your your specific domain will be included in your email list spreadsheet. In most cases the setting will be pop3 + your domain. Example: for www.uxbinternet.com the setting would be pop3.uxbinternet.com




  5. Enter your full email address (ex: yourname@yourdomain.com) in the 'User Name:' field, and click 'Next.'


  6. Enter a name for your email account in the 'Account Name:' field, and click 'Next.'


  7. Verify your account information in the dialogue box, and click 'Finish.'
  8. Select 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' listed beneath your new account.
  9. Enter 'smtp.yourdomain.com' in the 'Server Name:' field under 'Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings,' and enter '1625' in the 'Port:' field.

    NOTE: "smtp.yourdomain.com" is an example of the outgoing SMTP relay server address. The setting for your your specific domain will be included in your email list spreadsheet. In most cases the setting will be smtp. + your domain. Example: for www.uxbinternet.com the setting would be smtp.uxbinternet.com



  10. Check the box next to 'Use name and password,' and enter your email address (ex: yourname@yourdomain.com) in the 'User Name:' field.
  11. Select 'No' under 'Use secure connection,' and click 'OK.'
  12. Verify that the information listed under 'Congratulations!' is correct, and click 'Finish.'
